The Scranton city council plans to appoint a new member at its regular meeting Thursday, Jan. 7. The appointee will replace Randy Winkelman due to his election as mayor.
Residents of Scranton who are interested in serving on the city council are asked to submit a letter to city clerk Melinda Hinners prior to the meeting. The applicants should also plan to attend the meeting that evening.
